Knowledge plays a fundamental role in the practice of biosafety measures in the field of nursing. This involves not only knowing the measures and procedures, but also understanding the reasons behind them. Solid knowledge in this area not only prevents exposure to biological, chemical and physical risks, but also contributes to the prevention of nosocomial infections and ensures quality care. The objective: was to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and practices of biosafety measures of the nursing staff of the emergency service Hospital Regional de Loreto 2023. Methodology: Quantitative research with descriptive, correlational, transversal and prospective design. with a sample of 66 nursing personnel from the HRL emergency service; The technique was the survey and observation, and the instruments were the biosafety measures knowledge questionnaire and the Biosafety Measures Practice Observation Guide. For the processing and analysis of the information, the statistical package SPSS version 24.0 and the chi square statistical test (x2) were used respectively. Results: Regarding the level of knowledge, 72.7% presented a medium level of knowledge, 22.7% presented a high level of knowledge and the remaining 4.5% presented a low level of knowledge; Likewise, regarding the practices of biosafety measures, 80.3% presented an inadequate level of biosafety practices, while the remaining 19.7% showed an adequate level of biosafety practices. In conclusion, the relationship between the level of knowledge and practices of biosafety measures of the nursing staff of the Loreto Regional Hospital emergency service was demonstrated p= 0.000 (p < 0.05).
