This research project, performs an “Evaluation of seismic performance by applying nonlinear static methods in essential pavilions in the I.E. No. 41026 “María Murillo de Bernal””, in the department of Arequipa, based on the structure of structural elements, applishing the Peruvian Technical Standard E.030 of Seismic Resistant Design. It is worth mentioning that this standard, although it is based on forces and resistance, “has no method for evaluating the structural performance of a building, which means that it does not predict structural behavior during a seismic event.” (Colos & Tunque, 2020). The qualitative approach study applied the nonlinear static method and the displacement coefficient method (to analyze the performance point) to two building pavilions. The results showed that these pavilions 101 A and 101 B, in the “X” direction, were operational and of immediate occupation, and in “Y” direction did not meet the performance requirement “Performance Based Seismic Engineering of Buildings” of 1995 of the vision 2000 committee, concluding that in the event of a rare seismic event, the study structure would be within the boundary of collapse. On the other hand, the structure of the block 101 A, achieved a ductility of 5.97, that is to say that it would present an average ductibility for the direction of analysis X. With regard to the structure of block 101 B, it achieved a ductility of 6.45, that is to say that it would present a high ductibility for the analysis direction X and with regard to analysis direction Y, the latter would show a fragile ductility, reaching a static value of 3.54.
