Trastorno temporomandibular en adultos mayores de un establecimiento de salud y el centro residencial “San Francisco De Asis” – Iquitos 2023

Abstract

El objetivo del estudio fue determinar la prevalencia del Trastorno Temporomandibular en adultos mayores de un establecimiento de salud y el centro residencial “San Francisco de Asis” - Iquitos 2023 La muestra fue por conveniencia, evaluándose a un total de 267 adultos mayores. Se utilizó el índice de Helkimo para el objetivo de la investigación. Los resultados arrojaron que el TTM leve fue el más prevalente en el 39,3% de adultos mayores, el 24,7% presentó TTM moderada y el 18% presentó TTM severa. Asimismo se encontró que existe una relación estadísticamente significativa entre el trastorno temporomandibular con las variables de grupo etario y el sexo de adultos mayores del establecimiento de salud y el centro residencial “San Francisco de Asís”.

The objective of the study was to determine the prevalence of Temporomandibular Disorder in older adults in a health facility and the “San Francisco de Asis” residential center - Iquitos 2023 The sample was for convenience, evaluating a total of 267 older adults. The Helkimo index was used for the objective of the research. The results showed that mild TMD was the most prevalent in 39.3% of older adults, 24.7% had moderate TMD and 18% had severe TMD. Likewise, it was found that there is a statistically significant relationship between temporomandibular disorder with the age group variables and the sex of older adults from the health facility and the “San Francisco de Asís” residential center.
