Introduction Pregnancy at an early age occurs with increasing frequency. These pregnancies are generally accompanied by high risks of biological complications in the mother, such as severe anemia, threatened abortion, premature or immature labor, toxemia, hypertension induced by the pregnancy itself, placenta previa, cervical incompetence, and infections, among others. In the health of the child, it can present from low birth weight, to sequelae that sometimes last a lifetime, such as mental retardation, defects in the closure of the neural tube, as well as poor biological development, among others. Objective To determine the maternal perinatal complications in pregnant adolescents treated at the Hospital César Garayar García, July - December 2017 Methodology The present study was of a non- experimental type with a retrospective correlational descriptive design; The sample consisted of the total population of pregnant adolescents (124 patients) treated at the Cesar Garayar García Hospital between July and December 2017; the same one that was taken for convenience for a meaningful analysis of the study. Results Of the 124 adolescent pregnant women treated at the Hospital Iquitos César Garayar García, among the sociodemographic characteristics it was found that 79.0% were between 15 and 19 years old, 56.5% come from the urban area, 68.5% have secondary studies and only the 73.4% were cohabiting. The obstetric characteristics of the adolescent pregnant women were found that 66.9% had only 1 pregnancy, 41.9% had between 4 to 5 APN, 84.7% had term gestation and only 73.4% had vaginal delivery. The main maternal complications in pregnant adolescents treated at the Hospital Iquitos César Garayar García were; preterm delivery (15.3%) premature rupture of membranes (8.9%), preeclampsia (8.1%), urinary tract infection (6.4%), anemia (4.0%), perineal tear (4.0%), premature detachment of the placenta (2.4%). The main perinatal complications in adolescent pregnant women treated at the Hospital Iquitos César Garayar García were; prematurity (15.3%), acute fetal distress (4.0%), low birth weight (2.4%), intrauterine growth retardation (1.6%). conclusion Maternal complications were not statistically related to the age of the adolescent pregnant woman (p = 0.472), origin (p = 0.362), gestational age (p = 0.984), number of pregnancy (p = 0.030). Perinatal complications were not statistically related to the age of the pregnant adolescent (p = 0.629), as well as the origin (p = 0.359), number of pregnancies (p = 0.959) and Prenatal Care (p = 0.844). A significant relationship was found between gestational age with perinatal complications (p = 0.001) and number of prenatal care (p = 0.001); However, a very significant relationship was found between the number of prenatal care (0.000) and maternal complications.
