This study aims to investigate how various types of soils behave in terms of their mechanical and physical characteristics after being stabilized with hydrated lime and quicklime. The present investigation was carried out at the AA.HH las Brisas located at km 7 of the Iquitos – Nauta highway. Soil phenomena are determined using a quantitative approach using bar graphs of the dependent variables, such as plasticity, maximum dry density, CBR bearing capacity and expansion, with a descriptive level using correlations and diagrams between the variables. This approach followed the regulations in force in Peru, so the methodology used was deductive. In two soils, pit 01 with high plasticity and expansion and pit 02 with low plasticity and expansion, with the application of different percentages of quicklime and hydrated lime (3%, 5% and 7%). The results show that quicklime improves resistance, limits the expansive effect and slightly reduces density and plasticity. Concluding that, in clayey, expansive soils with high plasticity, quicklime can be used to stabilize the soil in sectors that do not have a wearing layer.
