A group of widely used medications worldwide sometimes hormonal contraceptives have been questioned by the presence of adverse effects and that have diminished as literature to diminish their concentrations of estrogens and progestogens, the Peru found that 40% who leave the use of contraceptive methods, more than one third of them ccase them use because of side effects that can cause the contraceptives; purpose of this study is to determine the presence of adverse effects and that have diminished as literature to diminish their concentrations of estrogens and progestogens, the Peru found that 40% who leave the use of contraceptive methods, more than one third of them cease them use because of side effects that can cause the contraceptives; purpose of this study is to determine the presence of adverse effects from the use of hormonal contraceptives. Objectives: Identify the major adverse effect:s in users of hormonal contraceptive distribuited of the Moronacocha health centre, December of 2011. Methodology: This study is non-experimental prospective descriptive, transversal design; the population was 230 users of the planning programme made family of the center of health Moronacocha, which surveyed to 144 on a voluntary basis, is ask you on sorne sociodemographic characteristics, information on the type, composition, time use and presence of adverse to the use of hormonal contraceptive effect. Results: The most widely used hormonal contraceptive was the parenteral (71.5%) than the oral (28.5%), as well as the progestogen (71.5%) than the combined (28.5%). The 30.6% use it more than 5 years, the 29.2% from 1 to 2 years. The 74.3% of users of hormonal contraceptives concern having presented any adverse reaction during its use, which mostly in the 1st and 4th month of use (54.2%) The main adverse reactions were: dizziness (45.8%), nausea (41.0%), weight gain (40.3%6), and headache (38.9%). Over 40 users presented a less frequent adverse reactions in relation to other etareos groups (p = O. 445) as well as the level of primary education (p = O. 001). Users parenteral hormonal contraceptive (77.7%) presented a greater frequency of adverse reactions to the contraceptive users hormonal oral (65.9%) (p = O. 143). Progestogen presented most often weight gain (49.5%), dizziness (42.7%), headache (42.7%) and nausea (41.7%). The combined presented most commonly dizziness (53.7%), nausea (39.0%), headache (29.3%), irritability (219.5%) and weight gain (25.9%). Users of progestogens alone were significantly increased frequency ofweight gain (p = 0.002) and intermenstrual bleeding (p = 0.029) than the combined users. Conclusions: The presence of adverse effect is common when using hormonal contraceptive, most frequently the parenteral progestageno.
