The present research was aimed at solving the following problem: What is the level of knowledge and preventive practices about HIV/AIDS in adolescents at the Santa María del Amazonas Educational Center MASUSA 2023? Material and methods: The research work will be quantitative, with a descriptive, cross-sectional and correlational approach. The present research work will have as a sample 165 adolescents between 12 and 17 years old from the Masusa Educational Center. Results: In this study carried out on adolescents from the SANTA MARIA DEL AMAZONAS EDUCATIONAL CENTER IN MASUSA during the year 2023, the level of knowledge and preventive practices about HIV/AIDS was addressed and there was a sample of 165 adolescents, whose results were obtained in 45.5% of the female sex and 54.5% of the male sex, of the adolescents surveyed 96.4% belonged to the urban area, 2.4% were from the urban-rural area and 1.2% were from the rural área. According to the findings of this research, the adolescents of this EDUCATIONAL CENTER have medium knowledge with 64.8%, high knowledge 21.8% and low knowledge 13.3% and with respect to their appropriate preventive practices with 70.3% about HIV/AIDS and inadequate practices 29.7%. Conclusions: The relationship between the study variables was shown to be that of the adolescents who had a medium level of knowledge and their adequate preventive practices, therefore a statistically significant correlation could be determined between the study variables because the p value is higher. Of 5%, thus contrasting the alternative hypothesis. Based on the above, it can be concluded that despite the level of regular knowledge that adolescents have, they are adapting appropriate sexual preventive practices, stating that the sexual practices adopted are probably due to other social and cultural factors.
