An investigation was carried out whose general objective was to determine if there is a significant correlation between school stress and academic performance in students of 3rd, 4th and 5th grade of secondary school of a public educational institution, Iquitos 2019. As specific objectives, the research was raised: • Determine what the levels of school stress are in students of 3rd, 4th and 5th grade of secondary school of a public educational institution, Iquitos 2019. • Determine the levels of academic performance in students of 3rd, 4th and 5th grade of a public educational institution, Iquitos 2019. • Determine the level of correlation between school stress and academic performance in 3rd, 4th and 5th grade high school students of a public educational institution, Iquitos 2019. For this purpose, a Questionnaire was applied to evaluate school stress and the average grades were obtained from the Department of Statistics of the aforementioned educational center. These instruments were applied to a sample selected by a non-probabilistic criterial procedure and their validity and reliability were verified before your application. It was an explanatory descriptive research, correlational level, cross-sectional, with a quantitative approach. The scores obtained were tabulated in the Excel 365 Spreadsheet and passed to the SPSS Version 25 Program. The statistical procedure allowed to verify all the hypotheses raised, establishing that there is a statistically significant relationship of an inverse nature between school stress and school performance, in the sense that increasing school stress significantly decreases school performance. The results were presented in tables and statistical graphs and the conclusions of the case and the respective recommendations were formulated.
