This research work was carried out in the district of Indiana, province of Maynas, department of Loreto; had as its main objective; To characterize solid waste in the urban area of the Indiana 2021 district, the methodology was based on the methodological guide of the Ministry of the Environment (MINAM 2018), zoning the city into four zones A, B, C and D, in which it was determined the number of samples to know the current state of solid waste generation, working with 95 homes. The conclusions obtained in relation to the per capita generation that counts in the Indiana district of residential and non-residential solid waste is 0.12 kg/inhab/day, the density of organic solid waste is 600.10 kg and inorganic waste 112 kg, the average total humidity of solid waste between residential and non-residential is 67.5%, the physical composition that predominates in the solid waste generated in the district of Indiana is organic waste, because it reaches 84%; in second place are inorganic waste 16%, evidencing that the component with the highest percentage of household solid waste in the district of Indiana is organic waste (food scraps, fruit peels, animal excrement and bones).
