Abstract: La ansiedad es una emoción negativa que se vive como amenaza, como anticipación cargada de malos presagios, de tonos difusos, desdibujados, poco claros. Ello ha motivado desarrollar el presente estudio: NIVEL DE ANSIEDAD EN ESTUDIANTES DE PSICOLOGÍA DE UNA UNIVERSIDAD PRIVADA DE SAN JUAN BAUTISTA – 2018. Por ello se plantea como objetivo principal: Determinar el nivel de ansiedad en los estudiantes de Psicología de una Universidad Privada de San Juan Bautista – 2018. Se realizó un estudio de tipo cuantitativo, de diseño descriptivo, evaluando a 106 de 151 estudiantes del 1º al 5º ciclo de la Facultad de Psicología de la Universidad Privada; se aplicó el Test de Ansiedad de Zung de 20 ítems, cada ítem se valora de 0 a 4, un puntaje 20 a 35 corresponde a un estudiante sin ansiedad, puntaje de 36 a 47 ansiedad mínima; de 48 a 59 ansiedad severa, de 60 a 80 ansiedad máxima. Se obtuvo los siguientes resultados: El 53,3% presenta signos de ansiedad mínima, el 28,3% presenta signos de ansiedad severa, el 2,8% presenta signos de ansiedad máxima, mientras que el 15,1% no presenta signos de ansiedad. Se concluye, que existe una prevalencia de ansiedad en los estudiantes en los dos primeros niveles, ya que ellos están propensos a situaciones negativas que afecta su personalidad, y que las más vulnerables a sufrir patologías de ansiedad son los estudiantes de sexo femenino. Therefore, the main objective is to: Determine the level of anxiety in psychology students of a Private University of San Juan Bautista - 2018. A quantitative study was carried out, with a descriptive design, evaluating 106 of 151 students in the 1st to 5th cycle of the School of Psychology of the Private University; The Zung Anxiety Test of 20 items was applied, each item is valued from 0 to 4, a score of 20 to 35 corresponds to a student without anxiety, score of 36 to 47 minimum anxiety; from 48 to 59 severe anxiety, from 60 to 80 maximum anxiety. The following results were obtained: 53.3% show signs of minimal anxiety, 28.3% show signs of severe anxiety, 2.8% show signs of maximum anxiety, while 15.1% show no signs of anxiety. It is concluded that there is a prevalence of anxiety in students in the first two levels, since they are prone to negative situations that affect their personality, and that the most vulnerable to suffer anxiety pathologies are female students.
