The objective of the investigation work was to determine whether the Criminal Courts of Maynas, in the period 2018-2020, applied the nonobservance of the reasonable period of time of the investigation as a mitigating circumstance in the determination of the sentence. The population was made up of the Loreto Criminal Prosecutor's Offices and the Criminal Judges of the Loreto Superior Court of Justice, with the analyzed sample being 15 accusatory prosecutorial requests and 15 convictions, corresponding to criminal proceedings processed in the province of Maynas during the period. 2018 - 2020. In addition, surveys were conducted with 15 magistrates from each institution, as well as 15 lawyers from the Loreto Fiscal District. The techniques used in data collection were documentary, through which information was collected on prosecutorial requirements and convictions, the instrument used being the registration form; Also the surveys made to magistrates of the Superior Court of Justice of Loreto and of the Loreto Fiscal District, as well as to lawyers of the Judicial District of Loreto, the instrument used consisting of the previously structured questionnaire. For data processing, descriptive statistics were applied with analysis of average frequency and percentage, which will be shown in statistical tables and graphs.
