The city of Iquitos has registered a high index of mobile and stationary sources of contamination, causing the emission of the main polluting gases that worsen the air quality of the city of Iquitos; In this sense, the present research work was carried out, which had the objective of determining the levels of Sedimentable Atmospheric Dust in three (03) avenues (José Abelardo Quiñones, Participación and La Marina) of the city of Iquitos; of which the type of research was experimental and the research design was experimental. The sample size consisted of twelve (12) Sedimentable Atmospheric Dust sampling stations distributed equally in the avenues: José Abelardo Quiñones, Participación and La Marina. The technique used in the investigation was the passive method of receiving plates, this method is one of the most widely used and is based on exposure to ambient air, for a determined period, of a glass plate with an adherent material. According to the results, it was observed that the average level of Sedimentable Atmospheric Dust in Av. José Abelardo Quiñones is 0.23783 and in Av. La Marina is 0.30292, lower than the average in Av. Participación that is 0.36383; which indicated that the highest concentration of Sedimentable Atmospheric Dust was generated on Av. Participación; that, likewise, it was observed that the monitoring station (AV-2-3), located on Av. Participation, during the months: October (0.567 mg/cm2/month), November (0.574 mg/cm2/month) and December (0.554 mg/cm2/month) and the monitoring station (AV-3-3), located on Av. La Marina, during the months: October (0.647 mg/cm2/month), November (0.648 mg/cm2 /month) and December (0.646 mg/cm2/month); exceed the Environmental Quality Standard (0.5 mg/cm2/month) established by the World Health Organization (WHO).
