The purpose of the study was to determine the prevalence of caries in FAP military personnel treated in the Dentistry service at the Southern Regional Hospital - Arequipa 2022. The type of study was non-experimental, cross-sectional, retrospective and descriptive design. The sample was for convenience and consisted of 163 soldiers. The results showed that in patients from 18 to 29 years old the CPO-D index was 6.34, in patients from 30 to 39 years it was 9.53, in patients from 40 to 49 years it was 10.67, and in patients from 50 to 59 years it was 12.57. In addition, a higher average of decayed teeth was observed in patients from 18 to 29 years old, the highest average of missing teeth and filled teeth in patients from 50 to 59 years of age. Likewise, 12.5% of patients presented a very low CPOD, 36.3% a CPOD, 33.3% a moderate POF-D, 16.1% a high CPOD and 1.8% a very high CPOD. It is concluded that the level of caries prevalence in military personnel treated at the southern regional hospital – Arequipa is low.
