The amount of carbon contained in the biomass of the low terrace forest in the Loreto area of Requena was calculated. Data from the forest census of commercial species in the logging plot of the logging concessions (PC1) of the operational plan (PO1) were considered. Indirect estimates of dry biomass were made using basic density and commercial volume. A total of 927 trees were counted, representing five botanical families and five commercial forest species. Total estimated biomass was 7 499 856,35 kg (14 122,43 kg/ha), while estimated carbon stocks were 8,47 tC/ha. Maquira coriaceae (7,91 tC/ha) had the highest carbon stock, followed by Calycophyllum spruceanum (0,39 tC/ha) and Ceiba pentandra (0,08 tC/ha). The lowest carbon stores were found in Hura crepitans and Iryanthera elliptica (0,06 tC/ha and 0,04 tC/ha) respectively. Classes larger than 110 cm (1,91 tC/ha) had the highest carbon stocks, followed by classes between 90 and 99 cm (1,49 tC/ha) and classes between 100 and 109 cm (1,41 tC/ha). According to the Chi-square test, the p-value of the comparator is less than (0,009) the significance level of 0,05. This suggests that, with a significance threshold of α = 0,05, the alternative hypothesis that there are differences between forest species in the low terrace forest in terms of biomass and carbon stored is accepted.
