The objective of this study was to: Determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and the degree of compliance with biosafety standards for covid 19, applied by the nursing staff who work in a Hospital in Iquitos 2022. With a Methodological approach: TYPE nonexperimental, quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional, correlational and prospective design, the Technique used was the Survey and observation, the Instrument, the Questionnaire and the Observation Guide, with a Population of 155 and sample 112 nurses of both sexes. Results: 88.4% of the nursing staff have adequate knowledge about biosafety standards against 11.6% who qualified with inadequate knowledge. Nursing staff have answered correctly over 75% to the questions about knowledge. 90.2% of the nursing staff does comply with biosafety measures and only 9.8% do not. Regarding hand washing, 94.4% do it before and after each procedure. Likewise, with regard to the use of gloves, 93.8% discarded it immediately. 89.3% use the mask before entering the patient room in respiratory isolation. Given the possibility of staining with blood or body fluids, as well as for special procedures, 92.0% of nurses use disposable gowns. 96.4% of the patients have the container to discard the sharp material very close to them. It was observed that 96.4% of the nursing staff dispose of solid waste in indicated bags or containers, depending on the color. Finally, according to the results, the proposed research hypothesis is accepted, that is, there is evidence of a moderate significant positive relationship between the level of knowledge and compliance with biosafety regulations with a Pearson's Rho coefficient of 0.530 (53.0%). Therefore, the higher the level of knowledge, the higher the level of compliance with biosafety standards.
