The city of Iquitos is located in the Peruvian Amazon and is isolated from other cities in Peru. There is no road that connects it with the rest of the country. The fine aggregates found in the area have very low fineness moduli. There are no coarse aggregate quarries near the city, resulting in the need to transport it by river transport, therefore, the price of the aggregate turns out to be very high. This reality forces the need to use a material that we will call cement-sand concrete, a material where only fine aggregate, cement and water are used. This concrete has a high water and cement requirement. The objective of the thesis is to investigate the properties of the aggregate and the influence of the fluidizing additive Z SR in the cementsand concrete made with the aggregate from the quarries in the vicinity of km 60 of the Iquitos – Nauta highway. The cement used is Sol brand type I. Three standard mixtures were prepared without additive with different water-cement ratios and three mixtures using the additive Z Fluidizador SR. The fineness modulus value of the aggregate turned out to be low, being 0.95. Therefore, high usage of kneading water was required. The plasticizing additive Z Fluidizador SR did not present an appreciable advantage with respect to the mixtures without additive.
