Objective: To determine the characteristics related to adherence to arterial hypertension. Methodology: A convenience population of 63 patients was evaluated from October to December 2020. The technique used was the interview. The instrument used questionnaire. It included information on sociodemographic characteristics, and the Morisky Green Levine application. Results: 68% were older adults, sex with a higher predominance of women 79.4%, independent occupation 47.6%, marital status married 79.4%, and 58.7% grade of primary education. 14.3% presented adherence, 85.7% is non-adherent to treatment. Conclusions: There is no significant relationship between age, occupation, sex, level of education, with adherence to antihypertensive treatment, (p= > 0.05). etc.
