The present research work was carried out in order to evaluate the process of balance and gait in the Elderly according to the Tinetti scale of the elderly person of the Integral Center of Attention to the Elderly of the District Municipality of Punchana. The work is a descriptive investigation with a non-experimental, crosssectional descriptive-correlational design. The Tinetti scale was applied to identify the moment of balance and gait where there is more difficulty and assess the balance and gait of the elderly. Non-probability sampling for convenience. The study population consisted of 100 older adults, distributed between 60 and 89 years of age, with an average age of 74 years; 69% women and 31% men; 38% are widowers; 63% have completed primary school; 52% do not practice physical activity and 73% do housework. According to sex, women predominate in the study population because there is greater interest in developing activities on their part. Stability in equilibrium predominates in each of the items under study. In the gait analysis, from the average values obtained, it is inferred that gait difficulty predominates. The most compromised items under study are gait symmetry where the length of the right stride is unequal to the left and the separated heels predominate in the walking position.
