Contraceptive methods are procedures that prevent or significantly reduce the chances of fertilization in fertile women, whether they or their partners use them. Objective To determine the level of knowledge about contraceptive methods of the students of the 5th grade of the San José Educational Institution in Indiana, in the year 2019. Methodology Quantitative type study, retrospective cross-sectional descriptive design, sample of 77 students from 5th grade of the San José Educational Institution; 15-question survey of basic knowledge, use and types of contraceptive methods. Results 44% had a Medium level of knowledge about contraceptive methods, 36% low level and 20% high level; 55% were male and 45% female; the age that prevailed was 16 years; 83% received information through digital and traditional means; 42.86% had a medium level in basic knowledge of contraceptive methods, 42.86% had a medium level about types and 41.26% had a low level of knowledge about uses.
