Climate change is a real and urgent challenge that humanity must face to ensure its future. The objectives of the project were to estimate LYMASAC's carbon footprint and management plan, analyzing emissions, removals and carbon footprint reduction possibilities. The methodology used was based on the application of ISO-14064-1 ISO14064-1:2012 and the GHG Protocol (Guide to Designing GHG Accounting and Reporting Programs). Organizational limits (Total Approach) and operational limits (Direct Emissions, Indirect Emissions and other emissions, which are equivalent to Scopes 1, 2 and 3 respectively) were determined. The results obtained indicate that total emissions are 931.28 tCO2e, the largest contributor being electricity consumption (Scope 2) with 856.70 tCO2e (92%), followed by the use of fuels in the company's own facilities and vehicles, with 74.30 tCO2e (8%), and finally the generation of emissions from the use of paper with 0.28 tCO2e (0.03%). In comparison to these emissions, removals from vegetation present in the company's facilities represent 11.63 tCO2e. LYMASAC's carbon footprint is 919.65 tCO2e and the proposed Management Plan incorporates measures that emphasize activities that consume electricity, such as eco-efficiency measures, equipment maintenance, replacement of lighting fixtures, among others. The measures to be implemented should generate greater awareness of the importance of natural resources, and in this context the removals do not express a reduction in GHG emissions, but rather a compensation for the emissions generated. Offsets are intended to generate an alternative positive effect equivalent to the environmental impact generated. However, LYMASAC must implement the actions indicated in its Management Plan xv and position itself as an environmentally responsible company.
