The main objective of this research work is to determine if an information technology adoption model favors the reduction of the digital divide in the inhabitants of rural environments of the city of Iquitos. The research was with a non-experimental intervention, applied according to the objectives, question and research hypothesis. The population consisted of the inhabitants of the rural areas of the city of Iquitos, with a sample of 346 participants of both sexes. For data collection, the survey and the questionnaire made up of 12 questions were used, which allowed obtaining real data on the tastes, intentions and preferences of the inhabitants of the rural areas of the city of Iquitos. For the information processing, it was carried out in a computerized way, using the computational statistical package and Microsoft Excel office software, in which the data have been organized in tables and graphic representations. It was concluded that the Information Technology Adoption Models favors the reduction of the digital gap in residents of rural areas of the city of Iquitos since it is clearly shown that the levels of access, use and adoption are higher with the use of the model. adoption, which would indicate a favorable situation for reducing the digital divide.
