This thesis presents the viability of using 100% recycled HDPE plastic pavers for urban applications, with the aim of reducing the environmental impact caused by plastic waste. The research focuses on the development, testing, and comparison of HDPE pavers with conventional pavers. Laboratory tests for compressive strength, abrasion resistance, and water absorption were conducted following the NTP 399.611 standard. The results show that HDPE pavers outperform concrete pavers in all evaluated metrics, particularly in compressive strength and water resistance. The study also includes a cost-benefit analysis, indicating that HDPE pavers offer greater installation efficiency and durability. The findings suggest that HDPE pavers provide a sustainable and cost-effective alternative for urban infrastructure while simultaneously contributing to environmental conservation.
