The purpose of this research is to analyze the difficulties faced by women leaders in the development of startups in Peru during the year 2023. Using a qualitative methodology with semi-structured interviews, perspectives have been gathered from startup founders and leaders, as well as representatives of government institutions, incubators and academic institutions. This study focuses on identifying the main barriers that limit the advancement of female leadership in the entrepreneurial ecosystem. It explores the socio-cultural barriers that affect the perception and access to female leadership; the financial difficulties and limited access to resources and funding; and the institutional barriers that impact the development of women-led startups. The purpose of this research is to provide a comprehensive understanding of the specific challenges faced by women entrepreneurs in Peru. By identifying and analyzing these obstacles, the study seeks to provide recommendations to overcome existing constraints, promoting a more inclusive and equitable environment for female entrepreneurship.
