The objective of this research is to analyze the current distribution channel for the supply of agrochemicals marketed by distribution companies in the traditional channel of the agricultural sector. The consumption of agrochemicals occurs in provinces where there are a large number of agroexporters and farmers, who need to protect their crops and achieve greater production for food supply externally and internally; This need requires distributors to obtain supplies of these chemical inputs, most of which are offered from Lima, for which they use informal means of transportation that do not have permits or legal requirements for the safe transport of agrochemicals classified as hazardous materials (MATPEL), which can generate negative conditions such as consumer dissatisfaction due to quality problems, cross-contamination, emergency spills and social impact, discrediting the brand or company that produces them. In order to determine the reason for the current use of informal transportation agencies, qualitative research is carried out through interviews with two important groups, distributors and transportation agencies. With the results obtained and the corresponding analysis, it is determined why distributors in the traditional channel use informal transportation for agrochemical supply, allowing to propose measures that can improve the current informal process within this important distribution channel.
