The present research work aims to analyze the design of a longitudinal sedimentation basin for sediment management, using the IBER software. Additionally, a dynamic and concise analysis was sought using this tool, as it graphically represents the possible results that may occur during the operation of the sedimentation basin. This project focuses on the Huapra River, located in the Marcará district, from which real study samples were collected to be applied in the IBER software to simulate the flow of water and sediments. This allows for the determination of results such as flow velocity (ranging from 0.160 m/s to 0.442 m/s), sediment velocity (0.03 m/s), water depth (which varies between 0.4189 m and 0.5965 m), sediment concentration zone, and hydraulic retention time, which resulted in a value of 48 seconds. Finally, the research concludes that using the IBER software as a tool for designing a longitudinal sedimentation basin is advantageous, as it provides dynamic results like those mentioned above, improving decision-making for the design of the sedimentation basin.
