This paper proposes the implementation of the S&OP model for demand planning in a pharmaceutical company in Peru. The research was carried out with a qualitative approach, conducting interviews with area managers to corroborate the problem and supply chain experts to corroborate the solution alternatives. It was based on the analysis of internal data, interviews with area managers and experts, as well as on the review of theoretical background on S&OP and its application in the sector. The methodology applied included an initial diagnosis of the current inventory situation, the identification of demand patterns and the proposal of a training plan to integrate and align the areas involved. The results indicate that the S&OP tool enables the company to respond with greater agility to fluctuations in demand, avoiding unnecessary inventory accumulation and optimizing decision making in import management. In addition, improvements in interdepartmental communication, resource optimization and cost reduction associated with warehousing were identified. It is concluded that the implementation of S&OP is presented as an effective solution to reduce the risk of overstocking, improve customer satisfaction and strengthen competitiveness in the pharmaceutical sector. This study highlights the importance of an integrated and coordinated approach to inventory management.
