This research work addresses the problems of a non-metallic mining company dedicated to the production of lime, which seeks to reduce the amount of waste generated during the calcium oxide production process. These wastes do not generate an economic benefit for the company. The main cause of this problem lies in improper handling and excessive runs during the process. The relevance of solving these problems is significant, given that limestone is one of the most important non-metallic minerals in Peru, with an annual production of approximately 2 million tons. Limestone is used in various productive sectors, which underlines the need to optimize its processing. In response to these issues, the implementation of tools such as System Layout Planning and Standardization of Work Methods is proposed. These methodologies are aimed at reducing the problems identified, by correcting excesses in routes and minimizing unnecessary handling. The adoption of these solutions is aimed at mining companies, both large and small, to significant improvements in efficiency and waste reduction.
