Multi-family buildings have been constantly advancing over the years. As the world's population increases, these structures also increase in number as people look for a place to live. Therefore, it is necessary that these buildings meet certain standards and criteria that guarantee the integrity of the people they will house, especially in highly seismic areas such as our country. Likewise, studies have been increasingly specialized and intensive, seeking ways to increase the structural reliability of buildings and making them able to withstand the force generated by seismic movements. Structural design is essential when wanting to build any type of building. That is why there are standards and regulations, both national and international, with the criteria that are taken into account in structural design. In this document, the design of vertical structural elements, such as plates and columns for a 10-story multi-family building in Lince will be carried out. This design will be carried out according to the Peruvian standard (E060) and the ACI 318 standard, in order to highlight the differences between both and to find the criteria that meet and work best for the area in which the building will be built.
