This document presents a project of professional sufficiency whose main objective was the optimization of the purchasing process in a project contractor company for mining, located in the south of Peru. This project sought to generate significant savings in the procurement of goods and services through the implementation of Lean Procurement tools and industrial engineering principles. Through this initiative, operational efficiency was improved and the company's competitiveness was strengthened. In the context of the economic contraction caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, it was identified that the company was incurring additional unplanned costs in the acquisition of the products and services necessary to serve its customers. To address this problem, strategies focused on process management, the optimization of supplier management and the adoption of the purchasing management module of a business information system (ERP) were implemented. These actions allowed the company to comply with the management indicators established in line with corporate objectives. Finally, an economic and non-economic evaluation was carried out that guaranteed the effectiveness of the implementation of the proposed tools to finally issue conclusions and recommendations on the execution of the project.
