The work focuses on containing recurrent landslides in La Divisoria, triggered by increased rainfall. The proposed solution involves designing a mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) wall using geogrids, based on an in-depth study of the soil properties and site conditions. Through CU and CD triaxial tests, it was possible to understand how the soil in question responds to varying conditions, ensuring that the wall in the project will be effective against loads and hydrostatic pressures. Following the guidelines of the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), recognized for its research on infrastructure, the wall design was analyzed using Slide software, providing accuracy in stability assessments. This comprehensive approach, beyond aiming to mitigate landslides, seeks to contribute to the development of resilient and replicable solutions for civil engineering, protecting one of the most importan routes for the country's economy connecting the coast with the rainforest.
