The research’s objective is to know about professors’ perceptions who teach mathematics in a private institution in Lima of their teaching self-efficacy in the teaching-learning process. It examines how they evaluate their abilities, practices and facilitate motivation and involvement in students. Using a qualitative phenomenological approach, a basic study is carried out with 17 professors from the Business Faculty, selected through non-probabilistic convenience sampling. Data collection is carried out through semi-structured interviews using an Interview Guide with four main categories such as educational planning, active learning in students, classroom climate and assessment for learning. The results reveal that most professors perceive high self-efficacy, based on their experience and mastery over the subject, which increases confidence in teaching. They highlight the educational planning and developing strategies to encourage active student’s participation, as well as maintaining a classroom climate that promotes trust and respect. Also, they value feedback from peers and students, just as self-reflection to identify opportunities for improvement. Consequently, the research provides significant evidence regarding professors' perceptions of their ability, through their actions and instructional strategies to influence the teaching-learning process.
