The objective of this research work is to reveal the relationships between lifestyles and physical activity in first-year cadets of the Officer School of the National Police of Peru in Lima. A descriptive, correlational and cross-sectional quantitative approach was used. The population under study was made up of one hundred and eighty first-year cadets of the aforementioned institution during 2017. A population census sample was used, that is, the entire population was included. To evaluate physical activity, the IPAQ (Physical Activity Questionnaire) questionnaire was used, a simple tool that allows measuring the physical activity carried out by a person in the last seven days. In addition, a lifestyle survey was applied to evaluate the quality of life of the cadets. In the administration of these instruments, the procedures established in their protocols were strictly followed. The results obtained indicate that, in terms of lifestyles, 59.4% of the participants comply with the patterns established by the World Health Organization (WHO) sometimes, 20% do so frequently and 20% do so frequently. 6% never meet these standards. According to the physical activity variable, 46.11% of the cadets have a high index, 40% have a medium level and 13.89% have a low level of physical activity. In conclusion, a relationship is observed between the variables studied in the analyzed sample. As compliance with lifestyle patterns increases, the frequency of physical activity also increases.
