The objective of this research work was to identify certain difficulties in the oral expression of Quechua I students at the Enrique Guzmán y Valle National University of Education. The objective was: to determine the influence of songs as a teaching resource in the development of oral expression of Quechua in students of the indicated subject. For this purpose, a research with a quantitative approach, basic type, quasi-experimental design, hypothetical-deductive methods, was established. Two groups were organized: one experimental of 21 students and the other control of 20 students of the aforementioned subject. The instrument used was an observation sheet duly validated by expert judgment, resulting in “excellent”. The experimental group received the proposed program and the control group continued with the traditional method. The result was that the experimental group outperformed the control group. Applying the Chi-square statistic, P = 0.000 < 0.05 was obtained, then Ho was rejected and H1 was accepted. Consequently, the use of songs as a teaching resource significantly improves oral expression in the Quechua I students of the aforementioned university in the year 2022, with the experimental group having achieved, in the post-test, a confidence level of 95% and 5% significance.
