The objective of this research work was to propose a solution to the reality that occurs in the academic management of the professional careers offered by the Faculty of Business Sciences of the National University of Education "Enrique Guzmán y Valle". In general and particularly in our university, the quality of the graduates is not what the community expects, causing these professionals to not be properly occupied, that is, in tasks related to their academic training, assuming other activities. In this sense, the research analyzes the benefits of the Balanced Scorecard in order to propose a pilot model that allows establishing an adequate academic management for the Faculty of Administrative Sciences of its four professional careers, in accordance with the vision and mission of the university. The proposed model identifies the main areas involved and how they are interrelated, to design their objectives and goals in each of them, establishing indicators that allow evaluating the academic activities developed, both qualitatively and quantitatively, if they are achieving what was expected and establishing the pertinent corrective measures in the process of continuous improvement. Once the design of the model for academic management of the Faculty of Business Sciences of the UNE was completed, two questionnaires were applied to a sample of teachers of the professional courses of Tourism and Administration, particularly in public universities, in order to find out if the proposed model improves academic management or if the current management is adequate. The results of the sample lead to the conclusion that the proposed model is much better. Finally, to generalize the results in the sample, a hypothesis test was carried out to establish that the proposed model offers better results than what is currently being obtained.
