The objective of this research work is to interpret the difficulties of mathematical language in the formulation of first degree equations with one unknown. Analyze and describe the mathematical activity carried out by two teachers around the formulation of first degree equations with one unknown, from which I identified didactic phenomena related to the subject. The anthropological theory of didactics, Raymond Duval's theory of Semiotic Representation, Guy Brousseau's theory of Didactic Situations, and the theory of Errors and Obstacles were applied. For the analysis I relied on two second-grade textbooks: Colegio Preuniversitario TRILCE and Manuel Coveñas Naquiche. The study population was made up of the totality of students in the second year of secondary education from both sections with their respective teachers in the area of mathematics. There is a great difference in the organization of the class between the two professors A and B because the paradox is that while one does not have much theory in the text that he uses, when doing his class he gives them theory and guidance to solve problems of the formulation of equations ; and Professor B who has a broader theory.
