The objective of this research work was to improve the environmental conservation of the Palestine cave, among the students of the IE Santiago Antunes de Mayolo, province of Rioja. The sample was represented by 22 students from the first grade of secondary education (EBR). The pre-experimental design was used, with pre and post tests on a single group. In the pre-test, the deficient level of environmental conservation was identified. After applying the program, it improved in the post-test, obtaining a pedagogical gain of 9.57 when comparing the average scores of the pre- and post-test. In the Standard Deviation, the scores obtained in the post-test present greater dispersion than the scores obtained in the pre-test, with a difference of 0.257. In the Coefficient of Variation, a relative result was obtained regarding the scores obtained in the post-test, where it presents less dispersion than the scores obtained in the pre-test, with a difference of 18.15. The results statistically corroborated through the application of Student's "t" distribution allowed us to determine that environmental conservation in its respective components obtained a probability of significance (p=0.000) lower than the level of significance (alpha= 0.005), rejecting the Ho and accepting the Hi, significantly improving environmental conservation. To confirm the effectiveness of the environmental education program, the Shapiro-Wilk Test was carried out, where p= 0.557>0.05, Ho is accepted; which means that the data for the difference between the pre-test and post-test scores were normally distributed.
