The objective of this research work was carried out on the association that exists between teaching self-efficacy and the commitment to the work of the teaching staff of a Faculty of the branch of a private university in Lima. The random and stratified sample was made up of 148 teachers. The research had a quantitative approach, was basic correlational and had a cross-sectional design. The instruments used for data collection were: the Norwegian Teaching Self-Efficacy Scale, and the ISA Engagement Scale; those that prior to field work were corroborated in content validity, with expert judgment and its quantification by the Aiken validity coefficient, and reliability with Cronbach's alpha. The statistical processing of the data was done with the Stanon scale and the Pearson correlation coefficient. The results found suggested that teaching self-efficacy had a high positive association with the work commitment of the university teachers surveyed. Likewise, it was found that the degree and sign of the correlations between two of the dimensions of teaching self-efficacy (teaching and cooperating with colleagues, and motivating and adapting teaching to the individual needs of the students) and the work commitment of the teachers surveyed They followed the pattern observed in the relationship between the two variables studied. The exception was regarding the self-efficacy dimension to maintain discipline and cooperate with parents, which was characterized by showing a moderate positive coefficient with the work commitment of teaching professionals in administration and accounting at the private university. The findings were statistically significant at a probability level of p<0.05.
