The objective of this research work is to demonstrate the connection between environmental awareness and the preservation of green areas among students. This analysis was based on a quantitative approach with a basic-descriptive research design and a cross-sectional correlational structure. The sample consisted of 115 high school students. To confirm the hypotheses, Pearson's r coefficient was used. The correlation results revealed the following: in relation to the general hypothesis, a value of r = 0.385 was found, indicating a moderate positive correlation with a significance level of p < 0.01, thus validating the proposed hypothesis. Regarding the specific hypothesis 1, a value of r = -0.176 was identified, indicating a weak negative correlation with a significance level of p < 0.05, leading to the rejection of this hypothesis. For specific hypothesis 2, the value of r = -0.095 represented a very weak negative correlation with a significance level of p < 0.05, which also led to the rejection of this hypothesis. On the other hand, specific hypothesis 3 showed a value of r = 0.619, indicating a considerable positive correlation with a significance level of p < 0.01, which supported the proposed hypothesis. Regarding specific hypothesis 4, a value of r = 0.632 was obtained, evidencing a considerable positive correlation with a significance level of p < 0.01, which confirmed the proposed hypothesis.
