The objective of this research work was to describe attitudes towards learning the English language and its relationship with academic performance. This research is quantitative, non-experimental type of research, correlational design, descriptive method. The study sample was made up of 56 third grade high school students. A previously validated questionnaire on attitudes towards learning the English language was applied. Once the hypothesis test was completed, it was concluded that attitudes toward learning the English language are significantly related to academic performance in students in the third grade of secondary education at the Santa Rosa Educational Institution, Abancay, Apurímac, because the Pearson correlation coefficient r = 0.625 indicates that it is a medium or moderate positive correlation, the cognitive component presented a Pearson correlation r = 0.550, while the affective component presented r = 0.510 and the behavioral component presented r = 0.549 , which indicates a medium or moderate positive correlation.
