The objective of this research work was to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and exclusive breastfeeding practices in mothers of children under 6 months of age who attend the Lurigancho - Chosica Health Post in the period 2024. The study presents a quantitative, non-experimental, descriptive and correlational approach. The collaboration of 100 mothers of babies under 6 months of age who visited the Health Post was counted on. Likewise, the first questionnaire oriented to knowledge and the other to exclusive breastfeeding practices were validated by expert judgment (V- Aiken of 0.97 and 0.88 respectively). Regarding reliability, a pilot test was carried out where KR 20 of 0.772 and 0.712 respectively were obtained. The findings showed that there is a relationship between the level of knowledge and exclusive breastfeeding practices in mothers, which was evidenced by the p - value of 0.002 < 0.05. In turn, a relationship was found between knowledge of exclusive breastfeeding and practices during breastfeeding (p=0.006); and a relationship between knowledge of exclusive breastfeeding and practices after breastfeeding in mothers (p=0.090). However, no relationship was found between knowledge of exclusive breastfeeding and practices before breastfeeding (p=0.162). In conclusion, the level of knowledge about exclusive breastfeeding is a determining factor for adequate breastfeeding during and after breastfeeding children under 6 months of age.
