The research entitled: Resilience and academic performance in the second grade students of the advanced cycle of the Alternative Basic Education Center "Hipolito Unanue", Tarapoto - 2018; which had as a general objective to determine if the resilience is related to the academic performance of the second grade students of the Alternative Basic Education Center "Hipolito Unanue", Tarapoto - 2018. The study presented a quantitative approach, correlation type and design not experimental; He also had a sample of 96 students. To this end, questionnaires were applied as a data collection instrument, the first variable consisted of 27 items and the second was a total of 20. The main results showed that resilience was low by 46%; On the other hand, the students' academic performance included the beginning level with a percentage of 53%. It was concluded that the resilience was directly and significantly related to the academic performance of the second grade students of the Alternative Basic Education Center "Hipolito Unanue", Tarapoto; also the degree of correlation was positive moderate of 0, 781; accepting in this way the research hypothesis "The relationship between the resilience and the academic performance of the second grade students of the Alternative Basic Education Center" Hipolito Unanue ", Tarapoto - 2018, is significant.". In this way, it is indicated that the lower the resilience the academic performance of the students will determine the starting level.
