The objective of this research work is to raise awareness about academic stress, which is described as the body's reaction to educational stimuli, which can influence learning progress. This study, carried out at the Centro de Educación Básica Alternativa República del Ecuador in Villa María del Triunfo in 2019, aimed to investigate the relationship between academic stress and students' educational performance. The sample consisted of 106 randomly selected students. A quantitative approach was used with a descriptive, retrospective and cross-sectional/correlational design. Surveys and documentary analysis were used, using the Stress Test with a Likert-type scale (with a validity of 87% and a reliability of 95%), along with an academic achievement record sheet. The data were analyzed with SPSS software version 23, using the Chi Square inferential statistical test with a significance level of α = 0.05. The results indicated that 57.5% (26) of the students showed satisfactory academic performance, and of this group, 53.3% (22) experienced a medium level of stress. In summary, the inferential analysis revealed statistically significant results (p = 0.000), supporting the research hypothesis: There is a positive and statistically significant association between academic stress and the educational achievements of students at the Republic of Ecuador Alternative Basic Education Center in Villa María del Triunfo in 2019.
