The research analyses the digital divide in interactive television in cable TV companies and local channel programmes in Barranca, using a qualitative approach and the interpretative paradigm. Interviews were conducted with 7 people from Jr Telecom and Econocable channels. The results reveal that the digital divide in the use of interactive television is due to the unwillingness of both broadcasters and the public to adopt digital technologies appropriately. Despite the interest of young people in digital services, the resistance of local broadcasters and their lack of adaptability show a significant gap in the adoption of digital technologies. The motivational, physical and digital literacy access gaps perpetuate the dominance of standard broadcast content, underlining the urgent need for educational programmes and innovative strategies to foster digital literacy and the adoption of these technologies in the community. In conclusion, the digital divides in the use of and access to interactive television reflect significant challenges related to willingness to adopt, lack of adaptation, motivational and digital literacy barriers. These gaps highlight the pressing need to address these issues in order to fully harness the potential of digital technologies in the community. The research suggests that innovative educational programmes and strategies are essential to bridge digital divides and improve the adoption of interactive television in Barranca.
