The present research work entitled: The Reading Plan as a strategy and the development of reading comprehension in 3rd grade students of the IEP Br. Noé Zevallos de Lima, 2018. It was aimed at determining the relationship between the reading plan as a strategy and the development of reading comprehension in secondary school students of the aforementioned educational institution. The method used was non-experimental, with a quantitative approach, descriptive - correlational cross-sectional design; The population was made up of 40 students, with a census sample (40). Two previously validated instruments were applied, the Plan Reader variable corresponded to the questionnaire developed by Quino (2010), which was modified and adapted; and another for reading comprehension by Genebraldo (2015). The results of the descriptive statistics for the Reading Plan indicated that 66.5% of those evaluated were at the medium level; 22.5% at the high level; and 10.0% at the low level. In terms of reading comprehension, 65% of students scored within the range of 10-13 points, 15% in the range of 0-9 points, and 20% in the range of 14 to 20 points; that is, 70% was at a medium level, 15% for the high level, and 15% for the low level. When applying the Shapiro-Wilk test, it was established that the data in the reading comprehension variable do not present a normal distribution; therefore, Spearman's Rho non-parametric test was used for hypothesis testing, positive correlations were reported and p value = 0.000; below the level of significance (<0.05) for all hypotheses; accepting all hypotheses of the researcher. It is concluded that: There is a significant relationship between the Reading Plan as a strategy and the development of reading comprehension in students of 3rd year of Secondary School of I. E. P. Br. Noé Zevallos de Lima, 2018.
