Children with chronic and complex diseases are increasing and require differentiated management. Pediatric Palliative Care is a model of care for these patients and their families, and which is made by a multidisciplinary team. It is necessary to explore the degree of knowledge, attitudes and motivations of INSN health personnel regarding this new form of care, with respect to this new model of attention. The objective of this study was to determine the degree of knowledge, attitudes and motivations of professional staff of the National Institute of Child Health on Pediatric Palliative Care. The study was transverse and descriptive. A structured survey was applied between May and December 2016 in the INSN. The data was processed with the STATA program. 153 surveys were obtained, 26.7% medical doctors, 51.6% nurses and 21.5% other professionals. 81% were women, with an average age of 42.5 years, and an average of 16 years of professional experience. We found that 51% of medical doctors, 46% of nurses and 38% of other proffesional had low knowledge of Pediatric Palliative Care. There are differences in the Attitudes assumed by professionals in front of proposed clinical scenarios, evidencing that physicians are inclined towards the Limitation of therapeutic effort, in comparison with a group of nurses and other proffessional who are more in favor of Palliative Care. There is a high motivation between all the participants, about Pediatric Palliative Care as a strategy for care or chronic patients with special needs.
