In this study to improve processes in the manufacture of footwear with the application of lean manufacturing; we will see various aspects such as: In our first chapter we will describe our project in a general way, identifying our general and specific objectives, focused on the title of our study; detailing the justification, scope and limitations of this work. According to the terms to be used throughout the development of the project, a term will be defined as processes, tools to improve the processes and key concepts of Lean Manufacturing. The company under study is in the heading of footwear manufacturing and marketing, and its target client are young ladies, but preferably adults; being our final product feminine moccasin, for casual use.The company has the following processes: warehouse of raw material and supplies, cut, machine, bagged or assembled, glued, finished and lastly, warehouse of finished products. In the situational diagnosis, it was possible to identify many problems that the company has, so they can be listed as follows: lack of total productive maintenance (TPM), excessive downtime in the drying phase -after bagging or assembly, lack of reuse of leather scraps and poor plant layout. These problems were analyzed using the Ishikawa diagram analyzing their causes, bringing together the main ones, it is that the following lean manufacturing tools are proposed to improve these problems found: Application of TPM, acquisition of drying machinery, Annual training plan, 5 ́S methodology development. These alternatives were evaluated concluding that they are economically viable.
