The present study aimed to determining the effect of the Mindfulness Program on the ability of children who have a clinical diagnosis of attention deficit hyperactive disorder (ADHD) on regulating dominant responses (inhibitory control). We sought, through the Mindfulness Program, to improve the ability to inhibit the dominant responses they presented. The study is pre-experimental with pre and post-test, the sample was of 11 subjects, all of them diagnosed with ADHD, whose age varied between 9 and 12 years, all of them males and students of the same educational center. The diagnostic verification was validated by the educational center, while the tests used to measure the inhibitory control of the subjects, Stroop and Go / No-Go, are justified by their field of action and the experimental evaluation methods most used in related investigations. We implemented the Mindfulness Program in 8 sessions, once a week and each session in a time of 90 minutes. The work consisted of practical and dynamic activities. A first evaluation was made using the Stroop and Go / No-Go tests before starting the program and another at the conclusion of the program. The results showed an increase in the capacity of inhibition in front of impulsive and/or dominant responses after having carried out the Mindfulness Program, showing the existence of different variables that can be contributing or limiting the development of such characteristics. Furthermore, we found a ‘large’ effect of the Program; showing a deep impact on inhibitory control through the implementation of the Mindfulness Program.
