This research has a main objetive to determine the influence that a correct relocation of the workshop areas would have on the mechanical and electrical maintenance of generators, and on the productivity of the Humboldt Peru business, for which the methodology used is a distribution by process, selecting and analyzing information to in this way, propose a solution to the problem found in the workshop. To identify the main problems that affect the productivity of the company, tools like the matrix factis, Ishikawa diagram, as well as the application of 5 whys were used, it was concluded as chosen problems the lack of organization in the area, as well as the lack of signaling. With this information, the redistribution was designed under the guidelines of the Distribution Planning using the Muther methodology, the new maintenance areas and operations diagrams were defined together to obtain the relationship diagram. Subsequently, a weighting of the following Factors was applied (investment, implementation time, productivity and flexibility), to select the best alternative between plant redistribution in a new land or a redistribution of plant in the same place, in this way chose the best possible. With the redistribution proposal, the 12% increase in productivity was estimated through the gaps indicator and the time measured in the process analysis diagram. Finally, the economic evaluation was carried out, where the viability of the project was determined, after obtaining an economic VAN of S /. 30,207.58 and an economic TIR of 52%, as well as a financial VAN of S /. 19,460.22 and a financial TIR of 42%.
