With the present research work, it is established and also emphasized, the importance that has one of our existing “Limiting Rights Penalties” currently stated in the Peruvian Penalties Code dealing with the imposition of “Community Service Penalties” to some of our law breaking citizens. This “Limiting Rights Penalties” is already about 30 years old. Its objective was to reeducate and formally reincorporate some of our law breaking citizens into society. Regrettably today, this penalties are not given the relevance they deserve in order to also help in the reduction of the overpopulation in our prisons.In the previous paragraph, constitutes the main reason for incorporating, in the first two chapters of this research work, topics involving: the origin, theories, definition and objectives of this penalties. This descriptive sequence will indeed facilitate the purpose for its incorporation in our laws and in international laws. In the subsequent chapters, analyzed indetail how these penalties are currently implemented in our penalty system. Interviews, were done to official members of the: Dirección de Medio Libre, Dirección de Política Criminal –MINJUS, a judge, a lawyer and two sentenced citizens, all of them shared their experiences, perspectives and limitations with the current implementations.
