The objective of the study was to explore the knowledge, attitudes and practices towards communication in adults who stutter and attend a therapeutic center in Lima, from a Neuroscience perspective (2018). Participants were ten people between the ages of 19 and 29 years old. The instruments considered were the socio-demographic file, the detailed interview and the Modified Erickson Scale of Communication Attitudes (S-24) modified by Andrews and Cutler (1974) and Dacillo (2018). Main findings exhibited that the majority of participants know about stuttering, their attitudes towards communication were in many cases positive and nowadays, they usually face communicative situations. On the other hand, some participants still have misconceptions about stuttering and, therefore, negative attitudes in many cases, which leads to avoid communicative situations. In conclusion, Neuroscience provides an interdisciplinary vision, a better understanding of the neural basis of stuttering and the importance of the environment and its influence. It also highlights the singularity of the human being. Likewise, it is important to connect the knowledge of stuttering, attitudes and the communicative practices in the approach of stuttering.
